Job description

We are looking for AI-Enabled Developers who can combine strong software engineering fundamentals with modern AI-powered development tools to build high-quality software faster and more effectively.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, demonstrated team player, and an AI-first developer who knows how to effectively use tools such as Claude, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini CLI throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will be responsible for developing new software products, enhancing existing products, solving complex technical problems, and actively using AI to accelerate analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze high-level requirements, understand the problem statement, and use AI-assisted development tools to design and develop effective solutions
  • Use Claude, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and similar AI development tools effectively for day-to-day software development
  • Build Web API services and backend services for web and mobile applications
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment
  • Use AI effectively for code generation, code completion, refactoring, optimization, debugging, test generation, documentation, and code review
  • Validate, review, secure, and improve AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting AI-generated output
  • Contribute to architecture, design, development, and implementation of new features, applications, and services
  • Develop clean, maintainable, secure, well-documented, and high-performing code following coding standards and best practices
  • Use AI to accelerate technical research, proof-of-concepts, troubleshooting, and exploration of new technologies
  • Create effective prompts, reusable AI workflows, and development patterns to improve engineering productivity
  • Document code changes, package applications, and develop comprehensive unit tests
  • Actively participate in Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, and Deployment
  • Take ownership of backend development and participate in challenging technical POCs
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver product features, releases, and technical POCs with high quality and within timelines
  • Participate in peer code reviews and use AI-assisted tools to improve code quality
  • Continuously evaluate new AI development tools, models, agents, and techniques that can improve software engineering productivity
  • Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, daily stand-ups, pair programming, and peer code reviews

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Web API development
  • Strong programming fundamentals and good understanding of software engineering principles
  • 2+ years of practical experience using one or more AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively for coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and technical research
  • Ability to understand and critically review AI-generated code
  • Experience in building API-based applications using REST / SOAP
  • Experience with microservices and/or event-driven architecture
  • Good understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID principles, clean architecture, and software development best practices
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies such as Entity Framework Core
  • Experience using GitHub, TFS, Bitbucket, or other source-control systems
  • Ability to independently analyze a problem and convert requirements into a working technical solution
  • Strong willingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging AI-powered development technologies

Nice-To-Have

  • Experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, or similar agentic coding environments
  • Experience building AI-enabled applications using OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini APIs
  • Experience with AI agents, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, function/tool calling, or LLM integrations
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies such as Angular, React, or Node.js
  • Mobile-first UI development or responsive web development experience
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of SQL optimization, SQL Injection prevention, and Change Data Capture (CDC)
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development and unit testing using NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines across QA/UAT/Production environments
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Experience working with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

At iCRATS, AI tools are not intended to replace engineering skills. We expect developers to use AI to become significantly more productive while maintaining engineering ownership and quality.

You should be comfortable with the complete workflow:
Understand → Analyze → Design → Prompt → Generate → Review → Test → Refactor → Secure → Deploy

The ability to write code is important. The ability to effectively work with AI to build, review, improve, and maintain production-quality software is becoming equally important.
